In the heart of Niagara Falls, from September 22-25, 2025, the SWIFT Conference & Expo, hosted by the Greater Toronto Airports Authority (YYZ), transformed the iconic destination into a hub of airfield expertise. With 426 delegates converging at the Sheraton Fallsview from across Canada, the United States, and beyond, illustrates its growing stature and relevance to an industry navigating complex operational challenges and rapid technological advancements.
Â
The conference kicked off with the Canadian Airfield Pavement Technical Group (CAPTG) andComplex Airfield Systems Strategy (CASS) workshops, setting the stage for the following three days of immersive sessions and hands-on demos. Delegates, representing a diverse mix of hub and regional airports, had the flexibility to tailor their experience, choosing between the Operations and Pavement Technical tracks.Â

On Wednesday, the expo buzzed with energy accompanied by presentations in the âInnovation Theatreâ from industry pioneers;Â Accipiter Radar, Falcon Environmental, ICC Distribution Group, Chemco, and TKH Airfield Solutions. These sessions culminated in the crowd-favorite âAirside Jeopardyâ, where delegates could test their airfield knowledge and win airport sponsored prizes in a lively, interactive format. âItâs great to meet with like-minded individuals on the bleeding edge of airport technology and airside operationsâ noted YOW delegate and SWIFT Committee Member Nicholas Ingold, a sentiment echoed by many who saw the event as a window into the future of airport operations.

The Welcome Night featured a surprise performance by Toronto-based comedian Justin Shaw. This yearâs Eagle Night, courtesy of headline sponsor Team Eagle, took place at the Fallsview Rooftop Pool & Bar and was a highlight with the breathtaking backdrop of Niagara Falls, while the 2025 Expo Social provided a relaxed conclusion to a full day of events.
